Susan Nethercote is an abstract floral and botanical painter living in Ballarat, Australia, with her husband and two little girls. Susan paints in acrylics and mixed media and is deeply inspired by nature, gardens and overseas adventures. She is also inspired significantly by a rich contemplative and spiritual life. In her abstracted floral work, Susan seeks to capture and communicate the joy, dynamism and magic of nature through fluid, expressionistic and colourful interpretations of nature's treasures. She started out researching, tutoring and lecturing in Fine Arts at the University of Melbourne. After career transitions, she established herself as a full-time professional painter in 2016. Susan loves to teach her painting style in her online 'Painting as a Practice' classes.
